Application and Admission Process
Collegiate School of Memphis seeks to enroll students who are capable of – and committed to – success in the total educational program of the school. We welcome students of all racial and ethnic origins and religious affiliations. Admission is selective and based on factors that include previous school performance, teacher recommendations, testing results, and a record of exemplary behavior at home, in school, and in the community.
The application and admission process to Collegiate School of Memphis reviews each applicant from a variety of perspectives. Each stage of the process takes into account students' academic prowess, along with attendance and behavioral criteria, teacher recommendations, and interpersonal and social skills.
Grades 7 - 12 Applicant Requirements
- Maintain a C average or above in academic grades, or evidence of satisfactory academic
performance if grades are not available.
- Attain a composite achievement score on a nationally normed, standardized
achievement test at the 50th percentile or higher. Recent test results within the last
18 months are acceptable.
- Score within the “average” range on an I.Q. test or an equivalent score on another
ability test.
- Have satisfactory attendance from the previous year.
- Have satisfactory behavior.
- Principal / teacher recommendation.
- Interview with the appropriate school officials.
- Additional testing may be required at the expense of the parent.
Application Process
In order for your application to be processed, the following must be included:
- Completed Application Form
- Current Report Card (6th or 7th grade)
- School Transcript / Records
- Test Scores (nationally norm-referenced test, i.e. ERB, IOWA, Stanford,
California, etc.)
- Letters of Recommendation (2)
– 6th or 7th Grade Reading / Language Arts teacher (required)
– 6th or 7th Grade Math teacher
– Guidance Counselor
– Principal / Asst. Principal
– Pastor (optional)
- Student Financial Aid Form (w/ copies of most recent W-2 and IRS 1040 return)
- Application Fee ( $20 payable to CSM)
- Financial assistance is available for those families who demonstrate financial need.
